Baryo HiFi Rolls Back Into Town to Kick Off AAPI Heritage Month

This Saturday, May 3, Baryo HiFi ‘25 returns to Historic Filipinotown with a free, day-long block party celebrating Filipino-American culture through food, music, and community. Hosted by HiFi Kitchen and the Historic Filipino Coalition, the event will take over Beverly Boulevard between Union Avenue and Union Place from 1-8PM and kick off AAPI Heritage Month with an energetic, all-ages gathering in one of Los Angeles’ most culturally significant neighborhoods.

The music lineup features some of today’s most recognizable Filipino-American artists, including SOSUPERSAM, Noodles, Slow Jamz, Guapdad 4000, and Bay Area icon, P-Lo. Their appearances highlight the event’s commitment to uplifting artists across generations and genres, while creating a space for cultural expression that feels rooted and expansive.

Food will be a major centerpiece of the event, with vendors including Lasita, Spoon & Pork, B Sweet, amai coffee, HiFi Kitchen, and Ben Scoops. This is the perfect weekend event if you're planning to grab a quick bite or graze all afternoon because the range of offerings reflects the diversity of the Filipino food scene in Los Angeles today.

The street will also host a community marketplace curated by Sari-Sari Studio and Mayumi Market, featuring local Filipino and AAPI-owned brands. From vintage finds and handmade goods to original artwork and design-forward pieces, the vendors represent a wide cross-section of LA’s creative landscape and make it easy to shop small and support independent makers.

Baryo HiFi ‘25 returns as a celebration of the Fil-Am community legacy, cultural preservation, and joy in public space. It’s a chance to gather, reconnect, and make new memories in a neighborhood that continues to shape the Los Angeles’ history. Admission is free with RSVP on Eventbrite.
